When Aprilia told me I reminded her of Rachel Bilson after seeing these shots, it was as if all my Christmases had come at once. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know I am utterly in love with Rachel Bilson - she's my style icon, spirit animal and just all round awesome, so a compliment like that pretty flattering. I've come to realise just how much RB has influenced this particular look - it was actually after seeing some candid shots of her rocking boyfriend jeans, heeled boots and a feminine blazer that I went on a search for my own pair of loose denim. And it was Rachel that convinced me ombre hair was still cool three years later.
I finally got to pull out the Sass & Bide which has been waiting patiently in my wardrobe to be worn for about 8 months. The top was a bit of a splurge ($370 to be exact), much to the disapproval of my boyfriend and my other fashion uneducated friends. Of course I was drawn to the asymmetrical hem and the one sleeve. It makes a statement without being too over the top - just the way I like it. The reason it's taken me so long to wear this is because, being one of the most expensive pieces in my wardrobe, I felt like I'd be insulting it if I paired it with cheap jeans or pants. Does anyone else get like that?
This is probably my favourite look to date and a huge part of that had to do with Aprilia's brilliant photography and direction. I'm not going to lie, I spent a large portion of my savings in Japan, so I've come back with a handful of new pieces I'd love to share with you. More frequent outfit posts to come! x
